Chennai: A Champions Trophy league volleyball tournament is being scheduled for next month here. The competition will involve the top six teams from the men’s senior division league which concluded on Sunday. Chitrapandian, Secretary, Chennai District Volleyball Association, said only the top eight would be retained for the next edition of the senior division league. State junior chessThe 37th SRM Tamil Nadu state junior (under-19) FIDE-rated chess championship for the S. Ramakrishnan Memorial Rolling Trophy and the 22nd SRM TN state girls’ under-19 championship for the V.V. Rajamani Memorial Trophy will be held at the Hall of Performing Arts, SRM University, from July 15 to 21. RPF basketballThe inter-Divisional RPF basketball tournament was inaugurated on Monday by C. Elangovan, Controller of Stores, ICF. The final will be held on Wednesday. Football tournamentThe DAV Group of Schools will conduct the second Shrimathi Prabha Jaidev memorial football tournament for boys from July 15 to 18 at the DAV Senior Secondary School Premises, Mogappair. The tournament is open to Chennai City schools, and 20 teams have registered.
