Left leaders to address meeting
CHENNAI: As part of the nationwide campaign against the Indo-US nuclear deal from July 14 to 18, leaders of Left parties will address a public meeting in Chennai on July 16. CPI (M) general secretary Prakash Karat, CPI national secretary D. Raja, and Forward Bloc general secretary Debabrata Biswas will take part. “We are organising such meetings almost in all States and members of the party’s Polit Bureau will participate in these meetings. We will explain to the people why we are opposing the deal,” said CPI (M) central committee member W.R. Varadha Rajan. Mr. Karat will also attend the secretariat committee meeting of the Tamil Nadu unit of the CPI (M) on July 16. — Special Correspondent
