Deal: Maudany flays IUML

PATHANAMTHITTA: People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chairman Abdul Nasir Maudany on Saturday alleged that the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) had degenerated into an “agent of America” by supporting the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) on the nuclear deal.
At a press conference here, he said that the IUML stand to continue its support to the UPA government after simply registering its protest against the move to sign the nuclear agreement was nothing short of deceiving the people.
“Here, the core issue is surrendering the sovereignty of the country in the name of the nuclear agreement and for that reason itself, the IUML stand is grossly against the interests of the country,” he said.
