CUDDALORE: Collector Rajendra Ratnoo has said that a new society has been formed under the Registration of Society Act to extend financial assistance to Muslim women to start self-help ventures. In a statement released here, Mr. Ratnoo said the Cuddalore District Muslim Women Aid Society had come into being on March 27, 2008. It was mobilising resources through donation and the government on its part was sanctioning matching grant to take up profitable ventures so as to uplift their socio-economic status. Training to set up small unitsThe funds would be utilised for imparting training in khadi and other artefacts and starting small units. The Collector appealed to people and industrialists to contribute towards their cause by sending demand drafts to District Collector, Collector’s Camp Office, Cuddalore.
