NAGAPATTINAM: All fishing boats including mechanised, fibreglass and catamarans that were not registered with the Fisheries Department should be registered before July 25, said M. Jayaraman, Collector, here on Friday. Presiding over the coastal security coordination committee meeting, the Collector said that action would be taken against fishermen who failed to register their boats within the stipulated time. Fishermen warnedHe warned fishermen against entering international waters. The Collector said that the government would not be responsible for the life and property of the fishermen if they went past Indian waters. The fishermenshould carry the identity cards issued to them by the Fisheries department.
