New format for B.Com course

HYDERABAD: The new syllabus of the B.Com course in the Osmania University, being introduced from this academic year, will help students gain hands-on-experience on various accounting packages and will help them learn from the industry. “The new format helps students specialise in emerging areas of business like insurance, banking, retailing, taxation, finance, marketing, business mathematics, office management and computer applications,” according to P. Purushotham Rao and H. Venkateshwarlu, professors of the Department of Commerce and who were involved in designing the new syllabus. Prof. Rao said the changed syllabus is also applicable to B.Com (Computers).
