NEW DELHI: Palash Tiwari defeated Hassan Al Mousa of Kuwait 6-4, 7-6(1) to move into the boys’ singles semifinals of the ITFgrade ‘IV’ junior tennis tournament in Damascus. The other Indian boy in the quarterfinals, Ankesh Bhargava lost 3-6, 1-6 to Alfredo Desiati of Italy. In the girls’ section, Rishika Sunkara and Shweta Rana lost in contrasting styles in the quarterfinals. Rishika went down fighting 4-6, 7-6(9), 4-6 to the second-seeded Fatima Al Nabhani of Oman while Shweta lost 1-6, 0-6 to the top-seeded Jade Hopper of Australia.
