Aviation expo 2008 in October

Four-day event from October 15 to be hosted by Begumpet airport

Aircraft machinery, equipment display section sure to be an eye-catcher


HYDERABAD: From parachutes to propellers, toilet equipment to aero engines and flight recorders to fuel equipments, anything and everything connected to civil aviation sector will be on display in Hyderabad during the first international exhibition of its kind in India during October next.

The mega event – India Aviation 2008, to be hosted by the Begumpet airport, now closed down for air operations, will provide a perfect stage for the market leaders in the aviation industry world over to display their products.

Ever since the closure of air operations in March last, the airport is now exclusively being used by institutes offering Commercial Pilot License (CPL) courses and the Indian Air Force (IAF) which has a dedicated hangar on the premises. With the entire infrastructure including a modern Air Traffic Control (ATC) being available, the Centre has planned the first ever international event in India at Hyderabad.

Display

The four-day event is to begin on October 15 and it will not only include static and flying display of aircraft, but also an international conference “Indian Aviation: Scaling new heights” which will focus on policy issues and business aspects of the aviation industry.

There would be six types of displays in the event: aircraft, aircraft machinery and equipment, aircraft interior, airlines, airline services and air cargo, skill development and airport infrastructure.

The aircraft machinery and equipment display section is sure to be an eye-catcher in addition to the actual static and flying display of aircraft. Flight control equipment, command and control systems, flight recorders, flight simulators, aero engines, automatic flight control systems, tyres, brakes and wheels, parachutes, toilet equipment, tools and repair kits would be on display.

The aircraft interior section would have on display design materials, cabin interiors, textiles and accessories, while in another section, aerial photography and satellite and imagery cargo transportation services among others would be on display.

Communication, navigation and air traffic control equipment, air traffic control equipment, air security and emergency systems would be displayed in airport infrastructure section.

The event will be organised by the Ministry of Civil Aviation jointly with FICCI and its overseas associate is Farnborough International Limited.

The supporters for the programme are Airports Authority of India, Air India, DGCA and Pawan Hans Helicopters Limited.
