Court seeks police reply on woman’s plea

NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Thursday converted a letter written to it by a six months pregnant woman alleging harassment and physical assaults by her husband and in-laws for dowry into a petition and sought a reply from the Delhi police.

The petitioner, Anuradha of Lodhi Colony, in her letter to the Chief Justice complained that the police were not registering a case against her tormentors. Issuing the notice, Justice S.L. Bhayana asked the police to file a reply by August 21.
