KOLKATA: The annual general meeting of the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) will be held on July 29. The working committee of the CAB decided on this late on Tuesday, setting in motion the process which might help former ICC, BCCI and CAB president, Jagmohan Dalmiya, to return to the mainstream of cricket administration in India. Dalmiya recently announced his willingness to contest the CAB elections this year following which all those who left him or formed a separate entity decided to return to his fold. With the incumbent president Prasun Mukherjee too deciding to stay in the fray, observers say this year’s elections could be as bitter as it was in 2006 when Dalmiya triumphed over his adversary. CAB veterans say that Dalmiya might have agreed to take on Mukherjee but would not file his nomination without counting the votes in his basket. The AGM will also see elections for the posts of two joint secretaries and treasurer.
