Shubham wins silver

HYDERABAD: Shubham Sharma of Hyderabad won a silver medal in the juniors’ category of the US Open table tennis championship in Las Vegas.

On the way to the final, the India junior No. 1 shocked top-seeded Japanese-American Wang Yo in the quarterfinals.

Shubham also reached the quarterfinals in the youth category and qualified for the men’s main draw but lost in the second round.
