Nod sought for Vizhinjam port

NEW DELHI: Parliamentary Affairs and Ports Minister M. Vijayakumar held talks with Union Defence Minister A.K. Antony here on Wednesday seeking early security clearance for the Rs.5,348-crore Vizhinjam international container transhipment terminal being set up by an international consortium led by Hyderabad-based Lanco Kondapally.
Briefing mediapersons, Mr. Vijayakumar said he had discussions with Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary T.K.A. Nair and Cabinet Secretary K.M. Chandrasekaran on getting the security clearance for the project at the earliest.
