Bangalore: A large number of Congress workers on Wednesday held a demonstration in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue here protesting against J. Narasimha Swamy and Anand Asnotikar, who resigned from the primary membership of the party as well as from the Legislative Assembly and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party. The protesters raised slogans alleging that the BJP had murdered democracy in the State. They condemned the legislators for ditching the party and the people, who helped them become members of the Assembly. — Special Correspondent
