LENDING A HELPING HAND: Kiran V. Patel (left), Chairman, KZen Equities, with John Moore, Managing Director and CEO, at a press conference in Mumbai on Tuesday. MUMBAI: The Pune-based KZen Equities on Tuesday launched its investment advisory services to help high networth individuals (HNIs) and entrepreneurs to invest in overseas companies. “Although the Reserve Bank of India regulations have permitted overseas equity investments for some time, actual investments have not picked up due to lack of India-based service providers in this year,” KZen Equities’ Chairman Kiran Patel said here. The company, he said, would follow a three-step screening process — identifying industry sectors, doing own due diligence and commissioning of independent research team — before zooming in on a company where its clients can invest. Stating that KZen expects to rope in 300-500 clients in the first year of operation, Mr. Patel said the minimum ticket size for investment was Rs. 5 lakh. KZen would outsource research on target companies from an Indian company as well, but he did not reveal the name of the company. Mr. Patel said Kzen was in talks with a few wealth management and broking firms having reach to tier-I and Tier-II cities for roping in clients. — PTI
