Akash bats well

Chennai: R. Akash’s unbeaten 90 helped PSBB (K.K. Nagar) score a seven-wicket win over Don Bosco in the Sumeru Soft tournament here on Monday.

The scores: Don Bosco 150 in 50 overs (Ashwath 39, M. Aravind four for 26) lost to PSBB (K.K. Nagar) 151 for three in 31 overs (R. Akash 90 n.o., Rishab Rajasekhar 27); St. Bede’s 217 for four in 44 overs (Leonard Bruno 44, K. Bharath Shankar 75) bt St. John’s (Besant Nagar) 215 for seven in 44 overs (P.R. Sylvester Jayan 54, S.R. Vibhu 64, K. Bharath Shankar three for 52).

Vinayak shines

G. Sai Vinayak grabbed five wickets, including a hat-trick, as Little Hearts ‘A’ skittled out Little Hearts ‘B’ for 97, on its way to a seven-wicket win in the Little Hearts league under-12 tournament on Sunday.

The scores: U-14: AVM-CCF 97 in 25.4 overs (Yasar Arafat four for 19) lost to Kannaih CA 98 for three in 16.2 overs (Selby B. Joseph 26, T. Sathya 28).

U-12: Little Hearts CA ‘B’ 97 in 19.1 overs (M. Andrew 32, G. Sai Vinayak five for 16) lost to Little Hearts CA ‘A’ 98 for three in 12.1 overs (U. Mukilesh 35, P. Thusanth three for 13).

Tarun triumphs

Tarun Veeraraghavan (S.S.N. College) won the Open category in Madras Gymkhana Club’s Gold Medal tournament on Sunday, with a gross score of 146. R. Shivraj won in the handicap category, with a net score of 138.

Darshan Veeraraghavan and K. Kumaran were the runners-up in the open and handicap events respectively.

Venkatesh scored both goals in ICF’s 2-0 win over TSP in the YCFC Silver Jubilee State-level football tournament on Monday.
