Anilkumar triumphs

KOCHI: Kozhikode’s O.T. Anilkumar, with seven points from eight rounds, won the Antony Thyparambil all-Kerala chess tournament at the Fathima Church Parish Hall, Elamkulam, on Monday.

Ernakulam’s P.V. Gireesh finished runner-up while Thrissur’s Joy Lazar was third.

Final placings: Open event: 1. O.T. Anilkumar (7 points), 2. P.V. Gireesh (6), 3. Joy Lazar (6), 4. Nimmy A. George (6), 5. K.A. Unas (6).

Important results: Final round: Unas drew with O.T. Anilkumar, P.V. Gireesh drew with Joy Lazar, Nimmy George bt M.V. Ratheesh, P.A. Ajmal bt Jithin Saji Issac.
