Man absconding with cash
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch police are searching for Marimuthu (45), who allegedly swindled money from a partnership firm in Guindy industrial estate.
The police said the man had set up a company to make plastic tubes for toothpaste manufactured by a multinational company. Marimuthu’s sister’s sons, Arun (20) and his younger brother Mandiramurthy (18), were minors when the company was set up but were later made partners. The pact was that the profit would be shared by the three owners through a common account and Marimuthu acted on behalf of his sister’s sons. About 10 days ago, Mr. Arun and Mr. Mandiramurthy complained that Rs.3 crore received from the MNC was not credited to the common account. They alleged that their uncle had opened a separate account and transferred around Rs.3 crore to it.
The police are searching for Marimuthu, who lived with his sister’s family live in Defence Colony, Nandambakkam.
