KOCHI: Bollywood movie fans in the city have much to cheer about this week. Two new films that include Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na and Love Story 2050 hit screens on Friday. Initial reports suggest that Jaane Tu… has taken the lead in box office collections thanks to its young cast and peppy music. Scriptwriter Abbas Tyrewala’s directorial debut, Jaane Tu… has Imran Khan and Genelia D’ Souza playing lead roles.
Imran is actor Aamir Khan’s nephew. Others in the cast include Ratna Pathek Shah, Prateik Babbar, Jayant Kriplani, Anuradha Patel, Rajat Kapur, and Paresh Rawal. Set in a campus backdrop, the film has some catchy music by A. R. Rahman. Love Story 2050 is a sci-fi film starring producer Pammi Baweja and director Harry Baweja’s son Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra. Boman Irani and Archana Puran Singh are part of the cast. Industry reports suggest Jaane Tu is giving a tough competition to Love Story 2050.
