Prohibitory order

CHENNAI: An order under Section 41 of the Tamil Nadu City Police Act, 1888, was promulgated regulating processions, demonstrations, fasts, meetings, assemblies etc. within the Chennai police limits for a period of 15 days from July 4, 2008.

In a statement, Commissioner of Police R. Sekar said that applicants seeking permission for organising any of the above events should apply five days in advance.
