Mumbai marathon prize money hiked

Mumbai: The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon 2009 prize money has been raised to $2,50,000, an increase of $10,000 from the fifth edition held in January 2008.

Describing the event as one that has grown from strength to strength, Neeraj Swaroop, Regional Chief Executive India and South Asia, SCB, said that the theme of the sixth edition would be ‘run for a cause’ in order to raise money for charity. The event has raised Rs. 26 crores in the first five years.
