Goa Government order will be effective up to August 25 PANAJI: As part of security measures, the Goa Government has directed landlords and owners of houses and property intending to rent out accommodation to do so after furnishing particulars of the tenants to the police. Similarly, those intending to take accommodation on rent or those dealing in property have also been directed to inform in writing to the police. “The Government Order has been issued to keep tabs on new tenants as there are possibilities of terrorists, anti-social elements seeking hideouts in residential areas, and there is a likelihood that these people may create breach of peace and disturb public tranquillity, endangering human life and property,” said a spokesperson of the Government here on Monday. The order, issued under Section 144 of the Cr.PC, would be effective up to August 25, the spokesperson said. Any person contravening the order was liable to be punished under Section 188 of the Indian Panel Code, the spokesperson added.
