Investment proposals worth Rs. 1,062 crore cleared

BANGALORE: The Large and Medium Industries Department on Monday cleared 65 investment proposals worth Rs. 1,065 crore in the State.
Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries Murugesh R. Nirani told presspersons on Monday that all proposals were below Rs. 50 crore, and they were in the field of information technology, hospital, tourism, automobile, pharmaceutical and engineering sectors.
The projects would provide 29,024 jobs after their completion. The investors had shown interest in Tier II cities such as Belgaum, Mangalore, Hubli-Darwad, Mysore and Davangere, he said.
Karnataka Udyog Mitra would clear investment proposals of Rs. 1,000 crore every month.
