It’s UPA’s vote-bank politics: Advani

Bhopal: Surrendering the land allotted to Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board is yet another example of the UPA’s vote-bank politics, according to senior BJP leader L.K. Advani.

“Revoking of land allotment to the Board is one more example of the Congress-led UPA’s appeasement and vote-bank politics,” he told journalists here on Monday.

‘Umpteen examples’

“The Congress has stood by extremist forces and there are umpteen number of examples for it,” said Mr. Advani, who was here for the release of Hindi version of his book My Country, My Life.

“First came the government’s stand on the Ramar Sethu issue by which the UPA government is attempting to undermine the faith and natural heritage. The government seems to be siding with extremist forces in the execution of court orders in the Afzal [Guru] case. And now the Congress-led government has revoked its own land allotment to the Board under extremists’ pressure.” — PTI
