Date of of new services to be notified later Frequency of Rajdhani Express to be increased THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The new railway timetable, which will come into effect from Tuesday, will see the introduction of Garib Rath tri-weekly services from Kochuveli to Yesvantpur, weekly expresses from Kochuveli to Dehradun and Amritsar, increase in the frequency of Rajdhani Express and speeding up of Sampark Kranthi, Ananthapuri and Mangala Lakshwadeep Express. The 2257 Yesvantpur–Kochuveli ‘Garib Rath’ Tri-weekly Express will leave Yesvantpur at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday to reach Kochuveli at 12.40 noon the next day. In the return direction, the 2258 Kochuveli-Yesvantpur Tri-weekly Express will leave Kochuveli at 8 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday to reach Yesvantpur at 11.30 a.m. the next day. The 2257/2258 expresses will halt at Banaswadi, Salem, Erode, Coimbatore, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Chengannur and Kollam. The train will have 10 Garib Rath AC 3-tier, 4 Garib Rath AC Chair Car, 2 Generator vans. The 2287 Kochuveli–Dehradun Weekly Express will leave Kochuveli at 8.50 a.m. on Wednesday to reach Dehradun on Friday at 6.05 p.m. In the return direction, the 2288 Dehradun-Kochuveli Weekly Express will commence journey from Dehradun at 7.20 a.m. on Sunday to reach Kochuveli at 3.40 p.m. on Tuesday. The 2287/2288 expresses will stop at Kollam, Chengannur, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Shoranur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Mangalore Junction, Madgaon, Panvel, Surat, Vadodara, Kota, Nizamuddin, Meerut City, Muzaffar Nagar, Saharanpur, Roorkee and Haridwar. The trains will have one AC 2-tier, one AC 3-tier, 5 Sleeper Class, 4 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. The 2483 Kochuveli–Amritsar Weekly Express will leave Kochuveli at 8.50 a.m. on Friday to reach Amritsar at 7.35 p.m. on Sunday. The 2484 Amritsar-Kochuveli Weekly Express, in the return direction, will start from Amritsar at 6.05 a.m. on Monday to reach Kochuveli at 3.40 p.m. on Wednesday. The 2483/2484 expresses will halt at Kollam, Kayamkulam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam Junction, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannnur, Kasaragod, Mangalore Junction, Madgaon, Panvel, Surat, Vadodara, Kota, Nizamuddin, Ambala Cantonment, Ludhiana and Jallandhar City. The trains will have one AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class and 2 luggage-cum-brake van coaches. According to the Railways, the date of commencement of service of the Garib Rath Tri-Weekly Express from Kochuveli to Yesvantpur, and weekly Expresses from Kochuveli to Amritsar and Dehradun will be notified later. Intercity extensionThe 2677/2678 Bangalore–Coimbatore Intercity Express will be extended up to Ernakulam with effect from Tuesday. As per this, the 2677 Express will depart from Bangalore at 6.15 a.m. to reach Coimbatore at 12.55 noon. It will leave Coimbatore at 1 p.m. to reach Ernakulam at 4.50 p.m. In the return direction, the 2678 Express will leave Ernakulam at 9.40 a.m. and reach Coimbatore at 1.30 p.m. It will leave Coimbatore at 1.35 p.m. to reach Bangalore at 8.15 p.m. The train will stop at Palakkad, Thrissur and Aluva railway stations on the extended stretch. The frequency of the 2431/2432 Thiruvananthapuram–H.Nizamuddin–Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani Express has been increased from bi-weekly to tri-weekly. The 2431 Rajdani Express will leave Thiruvananthapuram at 7.15 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. In the return direction, the 2432 Rajdhani Express will leave Nizamuddin at 11.05 a.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday. The increase in the frequency will be notified later.
