New railway timetable takes effect today

Date of ‘Garib Rath’ between Vizag and Secunderabad to be announced soon


The train will enable poor people to travel in AC at a nominal price

Special weekly train between Vizag and Nizamabad has been announced


VISAKHAPATNAM: A weekly thrice Garib Rath will be introduced between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad very soon even as the new railway timetable comes into effect from July 1.

The super fast express train will leave Visakhapatnam at 8.45 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with the number 2739. The train numbered 2740 will leave Secunderabad at 8.15 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The train is being introduced to enable poor people to travel in AC at a nominal price.

A railway spokesman said the date of introduction of new trains would be notified later. As per announcement made in the railway budget, a weekly train with the numbers 2253 and 2254 will ply between Bhagalpur-Yeshwantpur-Bhagalpur with a stop at Duvvada.

Another weekly train with numbers 5901 and 5902 between New Dibrugarh Town-Yeshwantpur-Dibrugarh will also have a stop at Visakhapatnam.

The railway authorities have announced the introduction of special weekly train with numbers 0510 and 0509 between Visakhapatnam and Nizamabad to clear extra rush. The train originating at Visakhapatnam will be in operation from July 1 to September 30. The train will have second and third AC coaches. It will leave the city on every Tuesday at 7.40 p.m. and reach Nizamabad at 11.55 a.m. the next day. The return train will leave Nizamabad on Wednesday at 6.50 p.m. and reach the city at 10.15 a.m. the following day.
