CHENNAI: Tamil Maiyam and Eventspro Skykomm will organise the second edition of ‘Come on Kidz 2008 – Sirar Sangamam’ from July 3-6. A bonanza of shopping, entertainment and contests await participants at the event, which is to be held at the Chennai Trade Centre in Nandambakkam. About 100 stalls displaying products from diapers to computers will be set up at the venue. JBJ City Developers will present a huge sand sculpture of Gulliver and the Lilliputians to be created by sand artist Ranjan Kumar Ganguly. Drawing contestA drawing competition for children of classes V-VII will be organised on July 4 on the theme ‘ecological significance of forests.’ Participants will be given paper, colouring materials, pencils and erasers. On July 5, a ramp walk has been planned for children below 10 years and their mothers. Celebrities will judge the show. A dance competition with individual and group performances will be held on July 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cash prizes of Rs. 20,000, Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 5,000 would be given for the winning performances. There are some programmes for all three days. School students will present dance and music shows. One area will be marked out as the ‘Hercules adventure zone’ to host contests including gunny sack race, cycling around sharp turns and running on a rough track. A snake-and-ladder game show on a 900 sq.ft. platform will be open to parents and children. Children will be asked to roll the dice and parents would have to walk on the board.
