Rajnath wants President’s rule in J&K
D.P.Sharan
Ranchi: Bharatiya Janata Party president Rajnath Singh demanded here on Sunday President’s rule in Jammu and Kashmir, as both the Union and State governments had failed to restore normality in the State in the wake of violence over transfer of forest land to the Shri Amarnathji Shrine board.
Talking to journalists, he expressed concern over the plight of innocent pilgrims. He said they must be given complete protection by deploying forces in the troubled areas in particular.
Price hike
Mr. Singh criticised the UPA government for the unabated price hike.
On the impasse over the nuclear deal, he said the BJP would never compromise with the “nuclear-sovereignty of the country.”
To skirt major issues such as price hike and high inflation, the Union government, along with the Left parties, was attaching too much importance to the nuclear deal issue.
