One arrested for land grabbing

CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch Police on Saturday arrested A. Narayanan (63) on charges of preparing fake documents for land owned by R. Gopalan of Raja Annamalaipuram.
According to the police, Mr. Gopalan lodged a complaint saying that his ancestral property in Tirumullaivoyal measuring 11 cents had been ‘sold’ to several persons by the accused.
Following investigations, Narayanan was remanded to judicial custody and cases were registered against him under Sections 420 (cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property), 467 (forgery of valuable security, will), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) read with 471 (using as genuine a forged document) and 120 (B) (punishment of criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code.
