Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: With political developments in Jammu and Kashmir taking a centre stage as the Congress-led coalition government was reduced to a minority, Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil called on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Saturday evening to discuss the situation in the border State.
Well-placed government sources said that both Dr. Singh and Mr. Patil had a detailed discussion on the political situation and on the continuing agitation against the transfer of land to the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.
Mr. Patil also spoke to Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah and People’s Democratic Party leader Mehbooba Mufti.
