Jewellery exhibition inaugurated

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: An exhibition-cum-sale of jewellery from all over India, “Zak Jewels 2008”, was inaugurated at Chennai Trade Centre here on Friday.

The exhibition has 39 stalls with jewellery ranging from simple sets priced at Rs.500 to diamonds worth Rs.15-20 lakh.

Prem, Senior Vice President of Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, told presspersons that sales worth Rs.1.8 crore were expected from the exhibition. It would provide a 10-15 per cent price advantage to customers due to the participation of direct manufacturer-jewellers of repute, he added.

This is the 18th edition of the “Jewels” series in Chennai, and the 83rd overall. The event also marks the 260th exhibition organised by Zak Trade Fairs and Exhibitions. The exhibition will be open to the public and to businessmen between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. from June 28 to June 30.
