Thousands accord tearful adieu to Mallikarjuna Rao

The body of film comedian P. Mallikarjuna Rao being taken in a procession for cremation at Anakapalle on Wednesday.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Thousands accorded a tearful farewell to comedian Mallikarjuna Rao at his native town of Anakapalle on Wednesday. Mallikarjuna Rao died of cancer in Hyderabad on Tuesday and his body was flown to Anakapalle. Minister for Commercial Taxes Konathala Ramakrishna, Opposition leader in Legislative Council Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, MLAs Ch. Ayyanna Patrudu (Narsipatnam), Ganta Srinivasa Rao (Chodavaram) and Kannababu (Elamanchili), TDP rural president Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy, TDP urban president CMA Zaheer Ahmed, ex-MLA Ganababu, and ex-Municipal Chairman K. Jagan paid last respects.

TDP leader N. Rajakumari also condoled the death.
