CHENNAI: The General Body meeting of the Chennai Football Association will be held as scheduled on Wednesday at the Nehru Stadium. This is the assertion of sources in CFA despite the fact that the Tamil Nadu Football Association had earlier in the day dashed off a letter to the Association and to the various clubs that the meeting has to be deferred until the Central Council of the TFA met in Coimbatore on June 28 to decide on the issues “arising out of the voting rights of active and inactive clubs.” According to TFA sources, the Coimbatore meeting had become necessary as the issue would have a wide impact on clubs in all the districts. Setting up of an Arbitration tribunal is one of the suggestion being made as the next phase. What is clear from the mood of the Association members though is that “the meeting will be held and elections held. When all matters had been disposed by the court and when no club has raised any further complaint where is the need for the TFA to intervene,” asked one member. — Special Correspondent
