Wahab, Osama in final

HYDERABAD: S.A. Wahab defeated Taha Kapadia 9-7 in the boys’ under-12 semifinals of the AP State Open junior tennis tournament at Meridian Tennis Academy here on Tuesday. In another match Shaik Osama beat Yash Puri 9-7.

Girls: Under-12 semifinals: Y. Pranjala bt B. Amrutha 9-2, M. Shivani bt Ravina Reddy 9-5.

HDAA selections

The Hyderabad District Athletics Association will conduct trials in the u-20, 18, 16 and 14 categories to select the district team at Osmania University grounds on June 30. Further details can be had from Dr. Rajesh Kumar (Ph. 92465 290130).

Cricket selection

The Osmania University will select its team for participation on HCA league tournaments at the Osmania cricket grounds on July 3 and 4. Those interested may report to the coach Harinarayana Rao at the venue with all required documents. Further details may be obtained from the Director, Dept. of Physical Education, Osmania University.

Boxing meet

A district-level seniors boxing meet will be held at the Govt. Hospital premises, Madhurawada, from July 5 to 8. The weigh-in will be held at Swarna Bharati indoor stadium at 8 a.m. on July 5.

Contests will be held from light fly to super heavy weight category.
