President’s XI posts win

VIJAYAWADA: President’s XI scored a four-wicket victory over Secretary’s XI in the three-day ACA South Zone under-19 selection cricket match that concluded at Anantapur.

Resuming at 142 for three, Secretary’s XI was bundled out for 188 with Ahmed Basha and Bhargav picking up five and four wickets respectively.

The scores: Secretary’s XI 157 and 188 in 79.5 overs (Ahmed Basha five for 42, Bhargav four for 51) lost to President’s XI 241 and 105 for six in 29.4 overs.

SZ u-19 team

Anantapur’s D.B. Prashanth Kumar will skipper the ACA South Zone u-19 team for the inter-zonal tournament at Vijayawada from July 10 to 27.

Ganesh, Prabhu sizzle

Left arm spinner T. K. Ganesh Kumar (eight for 58) helped ACA President’s XI restrict Secretary’s XI to 253 in the three-day ACA Central Zone seniors’ selection match for the S. Mastan Rao Memorial Trophy at the IGMC Stadium here on Monday.

At stumps, ACA Secretary’s XI was 184 for one with D. Prabhu Kiran (93 and V. Manoj Sai (53) at the crease.

The scores: ACA President’s XI 253 in 44. 4 overs (M. Chiambareswara Rao 85, V. Sandeep 70, T.K. Ganesh Kumar eight for 58) vs. ACA Secretary’s XI 184 for one in 38 overs (D. Prabhu Kiran 93 batting, V. Manoj Sai 53 batting).
