KARACHI: The Pakistan cricket captain, Shoaib Malik, said his team will make the most of its home advantage when it takes on four-time winner India and defending champion Sri Lanka in the six-nation Asia Cup cricket tournament starting on Tuesday. “Pressure of competing at home is always there, but we have an edge of knowing our playing conditions very well,” Malik said. Pakistan — winner of the 2000 Asia Cup — is riding high despite losing two of its key fast bowlers, Mohammad Asif and Shoaib Akhtar. The home team has lost only one of its last 14 one-dayers, although 10 of its wins came against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh earlier this year. “The morale of the team is very high after the tri-series final in Bangladesh,” Malik said. — AP
