Surprise check

A surprise check was conducted recently by Tamil Nadu Electrcity Board officials at Chekkanoorani area in Samayanallur division, in which one consumer was found to be violating norms.

A fine of Rs.1,465 was imposed on the consumer.

The violation came to light when a 27-member team of engineers led by the Executive Engineer (General), K. Thangarasu, checked 2,251 electricity connections in the area, according to a release. Another three persons were found misusing the power connections given to them and were fined Rs. 3,610.
