VELLORE: Private mobile service provider Airtel has expanded its services in Vellore district by including five new villages — Erukkambattu, Melarasambattu, Nagavedu, Thondanthulasi and Melpatti — to its network.

According to a release, with this addition, the service provider has connected a total of three census-covered towns and 114 census-covered villages in Vellore district in its mobile network. Airtel now provides coverage to 91 per cent of the population of Tamil Nadu, spread over 765 towns and more than 19.000 villages.

Rajiv Rajgopal, Chief Executive Officer, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel Limited, Tamil Nadu, said that Airtel has been aggressively expanding its network, enabling its customers to connect anytime, anywhere. “We would continue to strengthen our network in the future, giving our customers the best service ever,” he said.
