Nishanthi causes a ripple

CHENNAI: M.H. Kalvath (LTTA) upset the top-seeded R.S. Raja (SDAT-C) 13-11, 7-11, 11-8, 6-11, 11-8, 12-10 in the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals of the Tristar State-ranking table tennis tournament here on Friday.

In the women’s quarterfinals, Nishanthi Kumaravel (MUM) staged a comeback to beat N. Arul Selvi (IB) 11-4, 6-11, 8-11, 3-11, 12-10, 11-7, 11-3.

‘A’ division volleyball

The IOB-SRM Chennai District ‘A’ division volleyball league will be held from June 23 to July 13 at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium.
