Arrest warrant issued against Raj Thackeray

Jamshedpur: A court here on Thursday issued a warrant of arrest against chief of Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) Raj Thackeray for his alleged derogatory remarks on chhath festival and “hurting” religions sentiments.

The court of 1st class judicial magistrate A.K. Tiwari has issued the bailable arrest warrant against Mr. Thackeray in connection with a petition lodged by a local lawyer Hameed Raza Khan. Accusing Mr. Thackeray of hurting the religious sentiments of a section of society, Mr. Khan had filed the case under section 153 (rioting). — PTI
