Maheswar shines

VIJAYAWADA: Maheswar Reddy’s 87 enabled Chittoor register a commanding first innings total of 364 against Anantapur in the two-day Andhra Cricket Association’s South Zone u-19 inter-district tournament for T. Giridhar Reddy Memorial Trophy held at Rural Development Trust grounds at Anantapur, according to information reaching here on Monday. At stumps, Anantapur was eight for one.

In the other match, Kadapa’s Subbarayudu (five for 16) and Sunil (three for 30) restricted Kurnool to 95 in the first innings. In reply, Kadapa was 124 for nine in 42 overs. The pick of the Kurnool bowlers was Vinod with six for 30.

The scores: Chittoor 364 in 84.1 overs (Maheswar Reddy 87, Tejeswar 47, Lokesh 46, Narayanaswami four for 44) vs. Anantapur eight for one in 2.5 overs.

Kurnool 95 in 46.3 overs (Subbarayudu five for 16, Sunil three for 30) vs. Kadapa 124 for nine in 42 overs (Vinod six for 30). — Sports Reporter
