Double for Vishnu and Shikha

IRINJALAKUDA: Alappuzha’s Vishnu Narayan and Shikha Jacob won a double each in the 19th Don Bosco Open all-Kerala table tennis tournament at the Don Bosco School here on Sunday.

Vishnu bagged the men’s and junior boys’ titles, while Shikha walked away with the women’s and youth girls’ trophies.

The results: Men’s final: Vishnu Narayan (Alp) bt P. Adarsh (Tvm) 11-9, 11-8, 11-9, 9-11, 7-11, 8-11, 11-9.

Semifinals: Vishnu bt S. Sundar (Alp) 11-9, 11-8, 10-12, 11-9, 11-7; Adarsh bt Shyam Narayan (Alp) 11-8, 11-6, 11-9, 11-8.

Junior boys final: Vishnu Narayan (Alp) bt S. Sunder (Alp) 11-7, 11-4, 9-11, 12-10, 11-5.

Semifinals: Sunder bt Harikrishnan 11-5, 11-6, 8-11, 7-11, 11-8, 12-10; Vishnu bt Sarath V. Joy (Alp) 6-11, 8-11, 11-9, 17-15, 11-5, 11-9.

Youth boys final: S. Sunder (Alp) bt Vishnu Narayan 11-7, 11-8, 10-12, 11-9, 11-5.

Semifinals: Sunder bt Harikrishnan (Tvm) 5-11, 11-13, 11-5, 11-6, 11-6, 8-11, 11-4; Vishnu (Alp) bt S. Arjun (Tvm) 11-8, 14-12, 11-9, 11-4.
