Hirvonen wins Rally of Turkey

KOCHI: Finland’s Mikko Hirvonen of BP-Ford Abu Dhabi won the Rally of Turkey in Kemer on Sunday and grabbed the lead in the World Rally Championship’s drivers’ standings from Frenchman Sebastien Loeb.

Austrian Andreas Aigner of the Red Bull team bagged the Production class title in his Mitsubishi Evo-9 and extended his lead in the Production Cars World Championship.

The World Championship takes a long break and the next event, the Neste Rally of Finland, begins in Jyvaskyla on July 31.
