Maoists, police exchange fire
JAMSHEDPUR: Maoist militants on Sunday exchanged fire with the police near Koira village in Patamda block of East Singhbhum district, police said.
The Maoists triggered two landmines and opened fired on personnel from Patamda and Kamalpur police stations who rushed to the area after being informed that body of a vegetable vendor Subodh Singh, killed on Saturday night, was lying near Koira village, police sources said.
The police personnel immediately retaliated, forcing the militants to retreat.
There was no report of any casualty so far. — PTI
