HUDA to auction bulk lands

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: HUDA is gearing up to get into auction mode once again after a lull that followed its Kokapet land auctions for the 100-acre ‘Empire’ project last year.

With the government setting up a target for raising Rs.3,000 crore through land auctions for HUDA this financial year to fund various infrastructure projects, HUDA has identified chunks of land for auction under bulk lands category in the metropolitan region.

e-tenders

HUDA has requested the Ranga Reddy Collector and the Chief Commissioner of Land Administration to go into the revenue records before taking possession of these lands for e-auction in July first week. Unlike open auction in the past, HUDA would invite e-tenders (online) from the interested parties and the tenders would be finalised with total transparency.

To raise Rs. 400 crore

Among the bulk lands up to about 100 acres are identified in Laxmiguda, Manchirevula ( Rajendranagar mandal), Gopanpalli, Kondapur (Serilingampally), Rampally (Keesara), Hakimpet (Shaikpet) and Tellapur and Kollur (Ramachandrapuram), says HUDA Vice-Chairman K.S. Jawahar Reddy. The bulk lands auction is expected to generate a revenue of Rs.400 crores.

HUDA would also auction about 80 left over plots in its layouts like Nandagiri Hills in Jubilee hills, HUDA Heights in Banjara Hills, Ramachandrapuram among other layouts.

Auction of another 120 acre land in Khanamet dotted with boulders near Kukatpally-Hitec City link road is in the pipeline.

Legal opinion sought

The HUDA is also in negotiations with National Academy of Construction for taking over 20 acres of its land.

Though under Jawaharnagar township in Shamirpet, 2,000 acres were identified and an exclusive master plan is under preparation for land use demarcation for various purposes, some bits of land were involved in court cases and thus legal opinion was being sought before inviting bids for it.
