TERI campus mooted in city

HYDERABAD: A proposal to set up a campus of The Energy and Resources Centre (TERI) in Hyderabad was submitted to Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy here on Saturday by TERI director- general and environmental scientist R. K. Pachauri. The Centre was established in 1974 to deal with problems arising out of gradual depletion of energy resources.

A press release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office stated that Dr. Reddy readily accepted the proposal. He commended Dr. Pachauri for his ‘valuable’ contribution in environmental protection. The eminent scientist had shared the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 along with former US Vice-president Al Gore.
