Indiramma: Collectors warned

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Saturday expressed serious displeasure over the delay in handing over the land acquired for houses under Indiramma housing scheme to eligible beneficiaries.

He observed that possession certificates were yet to be issued to thousands of beneficiaries in spite of the takeover of land. This was delaying commencement of construction. The situation was more pronounced in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, East Godavari, Prakasam and Adilabad districts where the administration had acquired land, but not transferred it to the beneficiaries.

At a video conference, the Chief Minister wanted the Collectors to take things seriously or face problems. He asked them to expedite transfer of the land to beneficiaries before the commencement of the Collectors’ Conference in the first week of July.
