Left parties to resume land struggle jointly

HYDERABAD: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the CPI have decided to resume the land struggle jointly and with renewed intensity from next month.

The two parties, which conducted separate struggles in the first phase, have decided to join forces for mounting pressure on the government for expediting distribution of land, house sites and houses to all eligible poor.

Decisions to this effect were taken at a meeting of the CPI (M) and CPI leaders at M.B. Bhavan, the CPI (M) State headquarters here on Saturday. The meeting also resolved to focus on issues relating to casual and contract workers during the nationwide protest call given by trade unions on August 20.
