Hoax bomb call to Nampally court

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Work was disturbed at the Nampally Criminal Court complex for over an hour after an anonymous person made a telephone call stating that bombs were planted in it on Wednesday.

Searches, however, proved it to be a false alarm. The caller rang up the landline phone in the High Court stating that bombs were planted in the court complex and would go off any moment. The High Court authorities alerted the Nampally court officials.

The Nampally police called in bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs and searched the building. “We’re conducting security checks at the court building everyday. Minutes after finishing it, we received the alert and once again we examined the entire complex,” Nampally Inspector V. Umender told reporters.
