ABVP demands cut in engineering fee

HYDERABAD: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has demanded that fee for Engineering and other professional courses be reduced.

In a statement here, Mohan Chary, technical cell convener, ABVP said that the existing fee was out of the reach of the middle and lower classes families. He reminded that the colleges have to submit their recurring expenditure based on which the fee has to be decided by the Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (AFRC) committee and wanted to know how many colleges complied to this norm. He said if the recurring expenditure is taken into consideration the fee should be decreased from the existing one. Moreover, many colleges are collecting extra fees in the name of caution deposit, library, lab fees etc and there is no control on colleges.
