NEW DELHI: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation will depute customer facilitation agents at Rajiv Chowk and Kashmere Gate metro stations during peak hours from Wednesday to prevent incidents of pushing and shoving. Both these are inter-change stations with very high footfalls. The facilitation agents, some of whom will be women, will ensure that passengers board and de-board trains in an orderly fashion and stay behind the yellow lines at the platforms. At Kashmere Gate station, 16 facilitation agents will be posted from 8-30 a.m. to 12-30 p.m. on the platform towards Central Secretariat. From 4 p.m. to 8-30 p.m., 32 agents will be available, 16 each on the platforms towards Central Secretariat and Rithala. At Rajiv Chowk station, 16 facilitation agents each will be deputed on the platforms towards Vishwavidyalaya and Dwarka. The Kashmere Gate station is an inter-change between Line-1 and Line-2 (Dilshad Garden-Rithala and Vishwavidyalaya-Central Secretariat) while Rajiv Chowk serves as an inter-change between Line-2 and Line-3 (Vishwavidyalaya-Central Secretariat and Indraprastha-Dwarka Sector 9). According to DMRC officials, Rajiv Chowk station has a footfall of about 2.5 lakh each day .
